Today, i wanted to show you how i made my handmade
pompom i put on my baby’s head band :)
its super easy!
You don’t have to go out any buy a fancy pom pom maker tool.. all you need is yarn, sharp scissors and your Lovely hands!!
My mom taught me how to make these when i was a little girl..
I’m sure there are better tutorial out there on how to make these, but i hope i made it clear enough for you to follow :)
1.Start by choosing how big you want your pompom. I’m using 3 fingers for this pompom tutorial. to make it bigger or smaller just add or take away fingers.
2. Wrap yarn around fingers- I do 60 turns around my fingers to get fuller prettier pom poms.
3.Slip out your ring finger so you have room to work with.
4. Slip in a strand of yarn in between your fingers (see where the black arrow is pointing).
5.Tighten the string really tight and knot.
6. Now you have your 2 sides
Steps 7. , 8. & 9. Cut in between the loops
10. Trim Pompom.. it took practice for me to get the hang on how to evenly cut the excess off.. hey I’m a crafter .. i would be a horrible hair dress ;)
There you have it! your very own Fringe Pompom!
they could be used for so much more than just a knitted hat topper!
